Orchestra members and parents can access the Tehachapi Youth Symphony Children’s Music Download Library — a place where parents and educators can download printable music files for young learners.

What you’ll find

  • Easy-to-read sheet music arranged for beginner instruments and voices

  • Simple instrumental parts (recorders, ukuleles, elementary strings, beginner band)

  • Vocal scores with large-print lyrics and melody lines

  • Rhythm worksheets and practice tracks (MP3) for home rehearsal

  • Seasonal and holiday selections, folk songs, and classroom repertoire

How files are organized

  • By age/grade: Starting from 4th grade

  • By instrument/voice: Voice, Recorder, Ukulele, Violin/Viola, Cello/Bass, Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, Trombone, Keyboard/Piano

  • By type: Full score, Part, Lead sheet, Play-along (audio), Worksheet

Download and print guidelines

  • File formats: PDF for sheet music and worksheets; MP3 for audio play-alongs

  • Recommended print settings: Fit to page, portrait orientation for single-line songs; use landscape for wider layouts where noted

  • Paper and size: Standard letter (8.5 x 11 inches) recommended; some classroom charts may be formatted for 11 x 17 inches (poster/choral charts)

  • Licensing and use: Files are provided for personal, classroom, or homeschooling use. Printing for resale or commercial distribution is not permitted.

Suggested starter packs

  • Elementary Strings Pack (Grade 4): Open-string repertoire, first position etudes, play-along bowing guides

  • Choir Starter Pack (Grades 4–6): Two-part songs, warm-up exercises, lyric sheets for concert repertoire

Tips for parents printing at home

  • Use a laser printer for clearer staff lines when possible

  • Print double-sided only when indicated to avoid disrupting musical layouts

  • Laminate frequently used rhythm cards or part pages for durability

  • Use binder clips or a 3-ring binder to organize parts by song and child
